To celebrate National Health Center Week, Michigan Department of Community Health Director Janet Olszewski visited Hamilton Community Health Network yesterday to talk with patients, staff and board members. She congratulated them for continuing to expand health care services in one of Michigan’s highest need communities and spoke about the challenges and opportunities to overcome Michigan is being presented with.
Director Olszewski also presented a President’s Volunteer Service Award to Lacie Regan, a staff member of Hamilton Community Health Network. Regan, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life Planning Committee member, will be recognized for her outstanding contributions to support the Society’s Relay for Life efforts.
Yesterday’s event marked day three of National Health Center Week. This annual weeklong celebration shines the spotlight on the nationwide network of 1,200-plus Community Health Centers across the country that provide comprehensive, accessible, quality care to 20 million Americans. (Including over half a million Michigan residents!)
