Michigan Mental Health Professionals Invited to Training on Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk

Barry-Eaton District Health Department is hosting a one-day workshop for mental health professionals on September 28 (8 am-4:30 pm) on assessing suicide risk, planning treatment, and managing the ongoing care of the at-risk client. The workshop will be held at the Eaton Intermediate School District in Charlotte (1790 Packard Highway).

Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk teaches essential core competencies that meet the needs of an entire spectrum of mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed counselors, social workers, and employee assistance professionals. Cost to attend is on a sliding scale basis: $10 for counselors who spend more than 50% of their time working with youth, $25 for partner organizations (e.g., BCRN, EISD, CMH), $50 for all other participants. Continuing education credits are available for an additional $10.
