Yesterday the Michigan Primary Care Association Marketing Network had the opportunity to get together for a day-long look at Health Center Advocacy, Outreach, and Social Networking. Participants not only benefited from presentations by experts in those fields, but from sharing the strategies and lessons they had learned in their own CHCs and brainstorming with colleagues from 14 different Health Centers across the state of Michigan.
One participant said “Everything was extremely useful, easily tailored to our clinic… great training!”.
Another commented “The variety of topics was great and the speakers were knowledgeable and passionate about their topics”.
The Marketing Network is just one of the 9 communication networks that MPCA facilitates to promote information sharing, educational opportunities, and peer-to-peer networking among Michigan Community Health Center staff. These peer-to-peer Communication Networks include conference calls, webinars, face-to-face meetings, and electronic listserves where members can discuss issues, share best practices, learn from each other and outside experts, and problem solve.
Current MPCA Communication Networks include:
- Behavioral Health Network
- Billing Managers Network
- Clinicians Network
- Finance Officers Network
- Homeless Health Network
- Human Resources Network
- Marketing Network
- Migrant Health Network
- Operations Officers Network
These networks are valuable sources of information and we encourage you to get actively involved, after all who understands the opportunities and challenges Health Centers face better than other CHC staff members! You can visit the MPCA website today to learn more about each network or contact the staff member facilitator to become a member.
