Mary Middleton, Executive Director at Cassopolis Family Clinic, has been accepted as one of 32 participants into the exclusive UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Health Care Executive Program. This two-week summer management development program for executive directors of community-based health care organizations provides the tools, techniques and approaches that executives need to successfully confront the mounting challenges in community health care today.
“I’m really looking forward to this great educational opportunity!” said Mary. “It is my desire to increase my skill level, thus leading Cassopolis Family Clinic, in collaboration with community partners, to create increased access to primary care, oral health care, and mental health services in Cass and Southeast Berrien Counties.”
The training program has graduated over 500 participants since its inception in 2002, including several Michigan Community Health Center executives. A key part of the program is the involvement of the Board or Community Coalition Chair as a co-participant during the last 2 ½ days of the program. Cassopolis Family Clinics’ board president, Attorney Robert Feldman, will be participating as co-participant.
“By including Mr. Feldman, the plan for our community will be supported by our Board,” said Middleton. “We’ve just completed a thorough Community Needs Assessment, and plan to build our ‘community plan’ around that.”
