During the August 2010 Board Meeting of the Michigan Primary Care Association, Mary Middleton was named Secretary. Middleton is Executive Director of Cassopolis Family Clinic, a Community Health Center located in Cassopolis, Michigan, which in 2009 served 8,200 patients at 28,000 visits at the Health Center’s two sites – a primary care site in the Village of Cassopolis, and an obstetrics/gynecology site in Niles.
“I would like to thank the MPCA Board of Directors for their vote of confidence in electing me as Secretary. This new responsibility will be an opportunity for me to learn more about MPCA activities, as well as each of the Community Health Center operations in the State of Michigan,” said Middleton.
Middleton succeeds MPCA’s prior Secretary, Linda Shively. Shively, former executive director of Baldwin Family Health Care, served as Secretary of the MPCA Board for two two-year terms.
“Michigan’s Health Centers and MPCA were blessed to have Linda Shively as a leader and officer of the Association. Linda’s quiet, experienced perspective helped to steer Baldwin Family Health Care and MPCA through difficult times to high levels of achievement. We are grateful to have had her with us,” said Kim Sibilsky, Executive Director, MPCA.
Middleton joins other members of the executive committee and the full membership of the MPCA Board of Directors to guide the association as the voice for Michigan Community Health Centers, and in its work of promoting, supporting, and developing comprehensive, accessible, and affordable community-based health care services for everyone in Michigan. Continuing on the MPCA Executive Committee are Chris Shea, President, Executive Director, Cherry Street Health Services; Anthony King, FACHE, MHSA, President-Elect, CEO & President, The Wellness Plan Health Centers; Michelle Styma, Treasurer, Executive Director, Thunder Bay Community Health Service, and Laura Piascik, Chair, Health Center Board Member Committee, Center for Family Health.
