7 New Community Navigators Join our Efforts to Get Children Covered

MPCA is proud to welcome 7 new AmeriCorps Community Navigators to our children’s health insurance outreach and enrollment initiative:

  • Aaron Seagraves, Jackson County
  • Natasha Robinson, Kalamazoo County
  • Tonya Morris, Wayne County
  • Michell Thompson, Genesee County
  • Tyra Holton, Kalamazoo County
  • Dionna Smith, Oakland County
  • McLain McGrath, Berrien County

Community Navigators provide both in-person and over-the-phone assistance for families in a variety of different environments, not only enrolling children in quality health coverage programs, but working to help them better understand their benefits, find a medical home and get referrals to other helpful programs and services.

While MPCA’s newest Community Navigators are concentrated on Michigan’s southern lower peninsula we still have 6 additional Outreach Specialists serving state-wide that also provide outreach and enrollment assistance in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. (Based in Lake, Charlevoix and Marquette Counties)

To locate the Community Navigator in your area and get more information about low-cost or free health care coverage for children dial 2-1-1 or visit our website, www.mpca.net/enroll.html.
